The agate geode from where the slices were cut had its layers formed over millions of years in hues of amber, blue, and white, only giving space in its center for white druzy to grow and add a layer of uniqueness to the agate slices.
The Trio of agate slices stands on a natural Brazilian hardwood, we chose a minimalist design of the stands, not to detract from the beauty of the agate slices themselves but rather to complement and enhance their natural beauty.

How did the agate lace layers come about? Remarkably, agates typically form within bubbles or cavities in volcanic basalt. Over time, these are filled with water rich in silica. As the water gradually evaporates, it leaves behind a layer of silica gel, which eventually solidifies into a distinct layer. This process is painfully slow, and varying impurities in each layer result in diverse colored bands. Fascinating, isn't it?
