AAA-graded amethysts are considered high quality and are usually dark purple with no dings on their points. The formation has to bring its purple colors to life and very little or no dings should be seen. A very low % (around 2%) of the Amethysts can be considered AA or AAA and only a fraction of that is considered to be a true AAA.
