An agate slice with beautiful, natural lines and special characteristics, such as a Dichroic effect, sugar druzy Amethyst, and 100% intact, this agate is considered to be a Display specimen and will be a show-stopping centerpiece to your collection, or your decor.
About this specimen, it comes from an old stock that our father saved for 25+ years. Nature amazingly formed the agate layers, where you can see the growth pattern it had during the millions of years. The layers of this agate slice begin with a layer of natural mineral, from outside-in, the agate layers developed one after another, in rarely seen colors that are dichroic, turning into reds and purples when light is applied.
After this first generation of agate layers fully developed, a gorgeous crystal layer took place, creating a beautiful contrast and giving space for the internal geode to form and the White Sugar Druzy formed.
It is very important to highlight the fact that this Agate Geode brings its purest form and no treatment has been applied to it.

You may be wondering, how the agate layers formed? It's just amazing: agates commonly form inside bubbles or cavities of igneous (volcanic) basalt and, over time, are filled with layers of water with high concentrations of silica. The water is slowly evaporated, forming a layer of silica gelatin, and then a layer is formed. It is a very slow process and each layer contained different impurities, thus creating different colored bands. Fantastic, right?
