Extremely Rare Pastel Blue Botryoidal Chalcedony with Botryoidal Formations and Moss Agate Matrix
Discovered in the mines of Ametista do Sul in Brazil, this specimen brings an exceptionally rare layer of pastel blue crystal that formed on top of a Botryoidal moss agate matrix, It forms a geode that resembles clear seawater flowing in and out, with the sun creating shadows on the sand. Adding to that, gorgeous aesthetics make it a one-of-a-kind specimen, worthy of display in a renowned gallery or a crystal collection.
What first draws attention, the blue coloration could be attributed to the presence of copper, nickel, or other mineral impurities within a silica matrix. It formed under specific conditions where these minerals were present in the perfect concentration at the right time, making this specimen likely unique in the world with such qualities.
The chalcedony developed in a nodular, botryoidal formation, creating the tongue-like main nodule as well as smaller nodules that resemble flowing lava.
To top it all, hundreds of unknown inclusions (possibly goethite) found their way to become attached to the outer layer of the blue chalcedony, giving a much-needed contrast to it.
