The geode that created these wings is a rare form of agate containing a white limestone layer, blue lace agate, and clear crystal. This agate geode features beautiful, well-defined patterns. It starts with a bold white lace that gives way to the formation of blue agate—a mystery arises here: which came first, the agate or the exterior limestone? The blue layers formed one by one, ultimately making room for the crystal, resulting in the stunning composition we see today.
Another rare characteristic is its size. The geode is extra-large, exceeding 30 inches in diameter. The slices were bookmatched to form these captivating wings.
